WHOLE CLOVE
syzygium aromaticum
Used in several classic spice mixtures, to simmer fish, poultry, game and meat. Very prominent in sauces and used in the bakery industry and processed meats industry as a ground spice.
Medicinal and other use
Clove is also used as an antiseptic and preservative. It is used to treat flatulence, colic, indigestion and nausea (draw clove in hot water).
